JOB DESCRIPTION
· Follows production record quantities.
· Batch cooks food in small amounts.
· Appropriately portions food for patient trays and cafeteria.
· Able to adjust employee production schedules when needed.
· Prepares food using standardized recipes as needed for special functions.
· Assist on tray line as needed each meal period.
· Stores refrigeration/frozen items within 30 minutes of delivery.
· Follows Universal Precautions/Infection Control.
· Uses chemicals safely, and maintains a clean and safe work area.
· Takes corrective action to address safety issues.
· Ensures food is stored properly (labeled and dated).
· Functions as team leader when supervisor and director are off duty.
· Adjust recipes/end results as needed to ensure quality food.
· Strong customer service skills.
· In depth knowledge of food preparation & food safety.
· Ability to read, understand and modify recipes.
· Ability to work independently with computer used for ordering food.
· Operate kitchen equipment and train others.
