Housekeeper Job Description:

 

Essential Functions:

• Perform housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry services for resident apartments and common areas.
• Follow assigned cleaning schedule for daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
• Clean floors through dry mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, and scrubbing.
• Clean movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures.
• Dust, spot clean, wash, disinfect, and polish various surfaces as required.
• Empty, clean, and re-line waste baskets.
• Straighten or rearrange furniture in assigned common areas.
• Inspect furnishings for wear and defects and report to supervisor.
• Clean entrances, exits, and bathrooms (resident, private, public).
• Clean walls, windows, doors, and ceilings as scheduled.
• Perform make-ready cleaning duties as per established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of trash.
• Report observations of structural and equipment issues to the supervisor.
• Report supply and equipment needs to supervisor for replenishing.
• Maintain equipment used in performing duties.

 

Long Term Health Care:

• Clean assigned areas daily, including resident rooms, bathrooms, common household areas, living areas, and household spas.
• Clean and disinfect resident beds and over-bed tables.
• Maintain the household beauty shop.
• Maintain lamps in assigned households, change bulbs, and ensure lamps are plugged in.

 

IL/Assisted Living:

• Provide laundry and housekeeping services for Independent Living and ARCP residents.

 

Independent Living:

• Provide individual apartment cleaning on a biweekly schedule, including laundry and bed linen replacement.
• Clean patio door inside the apartment; balcony cleaned annually by the grounds team.
• Perform make-ready cleaning duties in residents’ apartments after vacated.

 

Other Responsibilities:

• Undertake related projects, duties, and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

• People-oriented individuals with good communication skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Computer skills appropriate to job tasks.
• Ability to read and write.
• Flexible work assignment and task performance.

 

Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform in a high-traffic, high-energy environment.
• Lift up to 50 pounds; pull, push up to 90 pounds.
• Finger and hand dexterity for operating small equipment.
• Significant bending, stooping, walking, standing, and lifting.
